Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge

Turquoise dragonfly

To make this card to took an A5 piece of card and swiped it with a Fossilized Amber mini Distress Inkpad to make the background.  When it had dried I stamped the flowers ( wind caressed by Penny Black,  one of my favourite stamps ) with Candid Apple Distress ink.
the stalks were stamped using the edge of a piece of card and Distress Ink Ground Espresso.
the dragonfly was stamped with Distress Ink Lucky clover and the wings have some glossy accents. Sentiment to be added when necessary!

These came to light as I was having a clear up. I'd forgotten all about them.

CB Colour Challenge 30

Pink Flowers
This is my entry for Chocolate Baroque Colour Challenge 30.
I used cream cardstock. The background is Brusho and Distress Ink. The stamps are from the Sketchy Doodle landscape set.
I was aiming for a bouquet of funky flowers but as usual what was in my head didnt work on paper. Howevr, I am fairly happy with this.

colour challenge chocolate

Tag made for Chocolate Baroque chocolate challenge
Rather disappointed that the colours look a bit insipid in the photo.

The shimmer background doesn't really show up.

Pressed Flowers

I have recently discovered a technique called hammered Flowers. In the demo a flower is taped to a sheet of paper and hammered; this creates an impression of the flower on the paper. It is very effective.
However, there is another way of doing this - using a die cutting machine.
A sheet of A4 water colour paper is folded in half. Flowers and/or leaves are arranged on half the paper which is then folded and passed through the die cutting machine. The results are unpredictable and fascinating!

Here are some pictures of my efforts.
I like this one - now to decide what to do with it!

Rose petals scattered across the paper.

Bit of a disaster - basil leaves

funny enough, this looks better on the screen!

Rose leaves - these work really well

another go, this time on watercolour paper

This is the first attempt using sketch book paper.

Distress Inks - new convert

Back in April I had a whinge about Distress inkpads and how unhappy I was with them. Lots of you replied with all sorts of hints and advice and were overwhelmingly enthusiastic about the Distress Inkpads.
So I thought I give them another try and treated myself to some mini Distress Inkpads. They are so good! Lovely colours and juicy ink! I now understand why you all love them. These inkpads and a waterpen are a dream to work with.
I realise now that the first Distress Inkpads that I bought were already old. They were dryish and curled up at the edges. Being new to stamping at the time I didn't know this was not how they should be.
They were bought, at a discount, at a craft fair in Farnborough.
While I am aware that you get what you pay for, I am nonetheless disappointed that I was ripped off and that I have had a negative view of these products because of that.
I am now a convert.

ChocBar Colour Challenge 23

Colour Challenge 23
I do like these colours.
The design is stamped with the leaves from elusive images 'Fresh Blooms" using the little inkpads from Chocolate Baroque. (the ones with the fleur-de-lys on the lid). I used Violet and Turquoise. The accents are coloured with Spun Sugar Distress marker and Lime Zest proMarker.  The sentiment is from Mackintosh sentiments.

Drawings and doodles

I found some doodles and drawings from the dim distant past.
This one seems very 1920's flapper. I obviously had a quiet five minutes at work because she is drawn entirely with ellipse and circle templates!
She fits the Mackintosh-esque frame well but I cant remember where I got it from. The little roses are from the Chocolate Baroque 'Punky Romance' set.
